Elder has over a decade of experience in community programming, event organization, project management, and policy analysis. He serves as a Grant Management Specialist for the Massachusetts Climate Team, focusing on social resilience metrics, identifying barriers to grant access, and establishing data collection systems. Additionally, he provides oversight for the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program and leads a team of Equity Partners.

Elder excelled as the Director of Community Programs at the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, where he nurtured urban leadership, built strategic partnerships, and led initiatives on climate resilience, recreation, and fundraising. His commitment to sustainability, equity, and civil rights is evident through his active participation in various committees and boards. As a compelling speaker, he has motivated audiences at renowned institutions and organizations, including the Pulitzer Center, the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Brown University, and the University of Rhode Island.
