Hi, I am Markeljana Mesi, and I identify as an educator and global development professional passionate about cross-cultural learning, environmental justice, and equity.

Originally from Albania, I migrated to the United States as a child, and that experience shaped my drive to advocate for inclusion and equal opportunity. Growing up between cultures taught me how powerful diverse voices can be in building stronger, more resilient communities.

I hold a Master’s in Global Technology and Development from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science. My love for the environment led me to the Peace Corps in Senegal, where I worked to combat food insecurity by introducing improved agroforestry techniques and training local farmers. Seeing how environmental challenges directly affect livelihoods deepened my commitment to environmental justice and sustainable solutions. I have also worked in proposal writing and program coordination, designing education initiatives that connect sustainability, technology, and community empowerment. Experiences that have strengthened my ability to collaborate across cultures and create programs that respond to community needs.

I am very interested in utilizing my skills and learning new ones on applying technology to expand equitable learning opportunities and support climate resilience.
